Almost all metal halide lamps contain a small amount of mercury, a naturally occurring element that is pervasive in the environment. It is important that lamps containing mercury be properly managed to protect the environment.

Some countries like the United States and Canada have stringent regulations on lamp recycling. Under Federal hazardous waste laws, lamp users are responsible for complying with disposal standards.

At AV Globes we do not recommend you dispose of lamps as normal household/office rubbish but that you take advantage of recycling opportunities available in many towns and cities in each country.
